The State Board of Wildlife (SWL), chaired by chief minister of maharashtra has approved these proposals.
Among the 11 CRs, 8 CRs are in western Maharashtra (5 in Kolhapur, 1 in Sindhudurg and 2 at Satara) while 2 are in Nagpur and 1 is in Amravati. The total protected area is 1,076.19 sq. km.
Vishalgadh CR, Panhalgadh CR, Chandgad CR are declared and Gaganbawda CR, Ajra-Bhudargadh CR are proposed in Kolhapur district.
